    Alusair: Any apparent way of opening?
    Arothir: Yes.
    Arothir: Two big loops.

    Arothir: A blue light, flickering, falls through the door onto the floor.
    Alusair: peep around the door!
    Arothir: YOU PEEP!
    Alusair: ( “You see an undead medusa! You are STONED!” )

    Arothir: In front of you…on a pedestal…a large, skeletal beast, ten feet broad with two massive tusks.
    Alusair: ”....”
    Alusair: Is it moving?
    Arothir: No.
    Arothir: Have you entered the room?
    Alusair: god no
    Shenvallei: Ill look at the blue light on the floor.
    Shenvallei: What is it?
    Arothir: You can’t quite tell.
    Arothir: The flickering indicates it’s a flame of some sort.
    Shenvallei: Can I reach it?
    Shenvallei: Without entering the room
    Arothir: The flame?
    Alusair: ( I think theres been a misunderstanding.. the light’s SOURCE did not fall. We cannot see it. The illumination, however, is shed through the doorway. )
    Arothir: Or the light?
    Shenvallei: yes
    Arothir: ( That’s it. )
    Shenvallei: oh
    Shenvallei: when you said fall you mean shine thru
    Shenvallei: ok
    Alusair: si
    Shenvallei: Ok so do we see where the source of light is comming from or does it appear to just happen?
    Arothir: Well, without peeking into the room more thoroughly, no.
    Shenvallei: Oh I look in fully.
    Arothir: You see…two braziers emitting a blue flame on either side of the skeletal beast.
    Shenvallei: “Fascinating.”
    Shenvallei: I step in the room.
    Shenvallei: And look about for traps as I head for the Brazier on the left (west end).
  • Alusair glance at Van, shrugs and goes into the room. *

    Arothir: You head to the brazier…
    Arothir: The skeleton doesn’t…move…
    Arothir: But there is a small passageway on the left…
    Arothir: It ends in another coffin, this one with a warhammer on top of it.
    Shenvallei: I put my hand near the blue flame. Is it hot or just bright?
    Arothir: It’s hot.
    Shenvallei: “Bah. Not coldfire.”
    Arothir: Van: What’s coldfire?
    Arothir: There’s a locked chest in the corner, of average size, then a smaller one up on a shelf.
    Shenvallei: “I had heard coldfire was valuable. Its an essence of tempered energy from the elemental plane of fire.”
    Shenvallei: Ill take a good look at the skeleton. What creature did it belong to, or is it a construction?
    Arothir: A knowledge (creatures) check
    Arothir: Or exotic, or something

    Arothir: You identify it as the Species: Elephant.
    Shenvallei: “Interesting. This creature is called an elephant. It is a mighty beast.”
    Shenvallei: “Not that the information helps us in any way. Though…”
    Arothir: Van’s eyeing the skeleton warily.
    Alusair: “Best perhaps to destroy it.”
    Shenvallei: “If we are on Faerun I know we are in the southern lands. Elephants only frequent there.”
    Arothir: Van: Why destroy it? It’s harmless…it hasn’t done anything to us yet…
    Shenvallei: “Then again the jungle told us that already.”
    Shenvallei: “Who said anything about destroying it?”
    Alusair: ”. . . forgive me, but have you encountered some other bones that were interred here and were harmless? Because I seem to have missed them.”
    Shenvallei: “Every skeleton deserves a fair chance.” Shen smiles sweetly.
    Alusair: “Every.. ... what? Gods, you have got.. Ugh. Its not even worth it.

  • Alusair jams her sword into its scabbard and walks off to fume in a corner *
    Shenvallei: Circle the statue and inspect for any clues.
    Arothir: You fume!
    Arothir: Which corner?
    Alusair: . . . Hmm…
    Alusair: Anything special about any of them that I can see?
    Arothir: Not to scale
    Alusair: whoa.. 3 coffins.. ok..
    Arothir: A quick look around reveals that map
    Alusair: Yeaaaaahhhhhh
    Alusair: Anything special about the coffins?
    Arothir: The coffin to the left reveals a warhammer.
    Alusair: I know one had a ..warhammer, was it?
    Arothir: Engraved on the lid are two crossed swords.
    Arothir: On the right, a one-handed, single blade axe
    Arothir: with a kite shield resting atop it.
    Arothir: there are two large chests sitting in front of statues
    Shenvallei: Can you put up a map? sorry.
    Alusair: he did
    Alusair: its most of the way down
    Alusair: so scroll your map
    Alusair: :)
    Shenvallei: oh
    Shenvallei: there it is
    Alusair: Hmm…
    Alusair: Leftern coffin, top corner
    Arothir: up top, resting on the chest is a wooden staff, with a (sorry, I didn’t know it was that far down) azure blue crystal lashed to the top of it. The base of the staff is tipped with what looks like a metal dagger.
    Arothir: There’s also a chest nearby, and a smashed vase.
    Alusair: A smashed vase? But Shen hasn’t had time to do that
    Shenvallei: statues are behind the coffins?
    Arothir: To the sides of the coffin
    Shenvallei: The only good vase is a smashed vase.
    Shenvallei: “hmm well this room sure is interesting.” I walk over to the lever.
    Shenvallei: What is the statue ove?
    Arothir: Jess trails behind you. “Levers can be fun..”
    Shenvallei: of.
    Alusair: ”....”
    Arothir: The statue is of a woman praying.
  • Alusair blinks, an ear twitching at the word “lever”. *
    Arothir: ...Something seems off about her.
    Alusair: Off about the statue?
    Shenvallei: Inspect the lever.
    Arothir: The lever is…rested.
    Arothir: And yes, the statue, not Jess.
  • Alusair draws her sword, attempting to locate Van without moving from her corner. *
    Shenvallei: Lever is currently in the downward position or upward?
    Arothir: Upward.
    Arothir: Van is fairly visible.
    Arothir: He stays away from the walls after that gnome incident.
    Shenvallei: Grab the lever.
    Shenvallei: Does it feel sturdy enough to pull?
    Arothir: The lever is grabbed.
    Arothir: Yes, it does.
    Shenvallei: Slowly pull it to the halfway point.
    Arothir: you slowly pull the lever…
    Shenvallei: Watch for any change in the room and listen.
    Arothir: You can’t observe most of the room
    Arothir: But you do hear a faint grinding of stone
    Alusair: ... None of that grinding is coming from the coffin next to me, is it?
    Shenvallei: Where is Al and Van on the map?
    Arothir: Nope.
    Arothir: Van keeps walking around the elephant, checking the two halls that surround it
    Shenvallei: “Anything happening?”
    Shenvallei: To Van.
    Arothir: Van: Huh? No…no gnomes…why, should there be?
    Shenvallei: Pull the lever all the way down.
    Arothir: You pull the lever all the way down…and it snaps off in your hands. Seconds later, the grinding noise stops.
    Alusair: “And here I was hoping to make it to two hundred at least.. now I don’t know if I’ll make it to one-ten.”
    Shenvallei: “Argh! It rusted off in my hand!”
    Arothir: Van doesn’t even seem to be paying attention to you two, more staring in awe at the elephant skeleton.
    Shenvallei: “See anything interesting Van?”
    Shenvallei: Walk over to him and look at what he is looking at.
    Arothir: Van:...the bones…they’re odd… they shouldn’t be staying together with no sinew…
    Alusair: “No… really?
    Alusair: “Am I just a decoration!?”
    Shenvallei: I laugh out loud!
  • Alusair tosses her sword on the ground and slumps down onto the ground, arms crossed in frustration. *
    Arothir: Van: No, no, it’s not that…there’s solid connection here…
    Arothir: He taps a knee joint, and it pings
    Arothir: Somewhere in the middle-C region
    Arothir: Van: It’s not a skeleton…it’s…just a decoration…
  • Alusair swings around to put her back against the coffin and starts talking to the occupant. *
    Shenvallei: Ill hop up next to the elephant and inspect a joint.
    Shenvallei: Is it fused together?
    Alusair: “So.. been here long? Yes, I bet you have. Nice place. Oh? Really! I had no idea it took so much work to make a tomb. Thats fascinating.”
    Arothir: It’s…glass.
    Alusair: Detect evil.. make sure I’m actually talking to something, even if it cant/doesn’t want to respond
    Arothir: Oh, you’re talking to something.
    Alusair: good
    Arothir: You even get muffled replies.
    Alusair: .... excellent.
    Alusair: Keep talking.
    Shenvallei: Glass aye?

    Arothir: Yes, yes they are

    Shenvallei: Hop down.
    Arothir: A very muffled, irate “I do very well for myself thank you very much”
    Alusair: “So, mister undead. I’m kinda bored. If I letcha out, what’ll ya do?”
    Shenvallei: “Oh well. No point worrying about the statue.”
    Shenvallei: Dart over to the statue of the praying woman and inspect it throughly.
    Arothir: You do so.
    Arothir: Search check.
    Shenvallei: Take 20
    Alusair: “Nothing, huh? Thats kind’ve dull, guess I’ll leave you in there..”
    Alusair: “After all.. you can do nothing in there just as well as you can out here!”
    Arothir: You see…the woman’s arms…are seperate from the rest of the stone.
    Alusair: “Then again.. if I let you out, I’d have to fight you anyway..”
    Shenvallei: “Hmm this looks interesting.”
    Alusair: “And then one of us would end up dead. Errr.. deader, in your case. No offense.”
    Shenvallei: Climb up on the statue.
    Arothir: you do
    Arothir: How do you get up?
    Shenvallei: Grab a hold of her arms and see if I can pull on them.
    Shenvallei: Depends how tall is she?
    Alusair: “Thats a pretty neat trick. How many of you are in there?”
    Arothir: They don’t seem like they’re going to budge that way
    Arothir: Pry 12 feet
    Arothir: On top of the pedestal.
    Arothir: So her heead’s pry 18 feet from the floor
    Shenvallei: wow.
    Shenvallei: big statue.
    Arothir: yeah
    Alusair: “You know what! The hell with it!”
    Alusair: Get up
    Shenvallei: Ill climb.
    Arothir: You get up
    Alusair: And shove the coffin open
    Arothir: STR CHECK!

    Arothir: The slab slides off, sending the warhammer clattering to the floor.

    Shenvallei: “Wait I think I know what to do.”
    Arothir: Within, you see a gray, dusty little imp, sitting with a ball of yarn and knitting needles, knitting into a bag
    Alusair: “Oh. Neat.”
    Arothir: Van: What’s that, Shen?
    Shenvallei: As soon as I get up here Ill tell you.
    Shenvallei: ””
  • Alusair offers the imp a waterskin, “Drink?” *
    Arothir: Imp:...FREEE!!!
    Arothir: He leaps up, leaving his bag behind, and flapping his little wings, zips out the door
    Alusair: “Right. Not a conversationalist, huh.”
    Arothir: Assuming no interruptions.
    Arothir: Shen, climb check.
    Alusair: Newp
    Alusair: Investigate whatever he left behind
    Shenvallei: what stat for climb?
    Alusair: str.

    Arothir: You…get onto the pedestal

    Arothir: You eventually scramble to the top
    Arothir: The Imp left behind a bag..filled with…yarn…
    Arothir: It seems like a very long scarf…
    Arothir: Pulling on it yields more and more scarf.
    Alusair: . . . quality?
    Shenvallei: wonder how long hes been knitting.
    Arothir: Of the scarf?
    Arothir: Masterwork.
    Alusair: return it to the bag
    Arothir: You do.
    Alusair: take it with me.
    Arothir: Shen – Probably 100 years. At least.
    Arothir: And all he knew how to do was knit scarves, nothing else.
    Shenvallei: So can I see if the woman is actually praying? Does it look like her hands/arms move in any way?
    Arothir: Yes, it appears that the arms do move.
    Shenvallei: Try to move them if I can.
    Arothir: How?
    Arothir: Pull, push, fart on?
    Shenvallei: Well I already tried to pull them down and that didnt work.
    Shenvallei: So maybe they raise up.
    Shenvallei: From atop her shoulders Ill try to pull them up.
    Arothir: You pull the arms up…the woman raises her arms towards the heaven…you’re about to give up when you hear a click, and a metal clanking from behind you.
    Shenvallei: Turn around.
    Arothir: The door is slowly rising…a red glow is filtering in under the door…and the temperature rises perceptibly.
    Arothir: The laughter you heard before gets louder.
    Arothir: Much louder.
    Shenvallei: “Uh oh.”
    Arothir: It echos…finally, you can see it’s source…a small gnome, standing before a massive stone altar.
    Shenvallei: Beyond the door?
    Arothir: Yes
    Arothir: Before him eminates a red glow, bathing the entire room in it…
    Arothir: The source seems to be set in the floor before him.
    Shenvallei: “Aha! Sir we wish to parlay!”
    Arothir: The laughter increases.
    Alusair: “Oh, sir, may we SPEAK to you!? What in the sod is this … bah!”
    Shenvallei: To the gnome from atop the shoulder of the woman statue.
    Shenvallei: I wait.
    Arothir: You wait…
    Arothir: The laughter increases, but the Gnome doesn’t move any more
    Arothir: Jess starts getting visibly freaked out
    Arothir: Van’s jittery
    Shenvallei: “Probably another illusion all.”
    Alusair: “I agree, lets find out.”
    Arothir: Van: I don’t like this..illusion or not…
    Shenvallei: Climb down.
    Alusair: “Oh, you don’t like it! But.. but.. I thought this was fun!”
    Shenvallei: Walk to the northern door.
  • Alusair retrieves her sword and heads towards the door. *
    Shenvallei: Detect magic in a cone targeting the gnome/red light/altar.
    Arothir: You do, indeed, detect magic…mainly from the sword you see sitting on the altar.
    Shenvallei: continue detecting another round to see how many individual auras radiate from the targets.
    Arothir: Just one from straight ahead
