Morgan (Safana): just sent a text.. he was on xfire a little bit ago
Nick (Arithel): ok afk for a few then.
Morgan (Safana): this will be mildly awkward for me because I have no mouse and more importantly in my opinion no mouse wheel
Morgan (Safana): Doug’s inbound, laptop must’ve crashed.
Alex: ahhh

Doug ((Unnamed)): So how do I add a local character
Doug ((Unnamed)): So I can select it?
Morgan (Safana): if you created it in the right ruleset, it should appear on your list.
Alex: yeah
(Unnamed): Was the only ruleset offered and that was D20
Morgan (Safana): piss.
Doug ((Unnamed)): Well that sucks ass
Morgan (Safana): that would explain it.
Morgan (Safana): you want d20_jpg, but I’ve been (obviously) a little unable to try and get your FG straightened out .
Doug ((Unnamed)): All that damn work :( Can you print from this program?
GM: Uh…print? no. But there might be a solution
GM: Boot up your e-mail
Doug ((Unnamed)): e-mail program is opened
Doug ((Unnamed)): Or should I go to my gmail? Have yet to set it up in my Outlook
Alex: Go into the FG folder
Alex: …you’re going to send me a file
Alex: How you do it is up to you
Alex: FG folder – > Data > Characters
(Unnamed): OK
Alex: Send me the d20.xml file
Alex: Character name?
(Unnamed): OKOK

Alex: Sorry for the delay
Alex: I’m trying to sort this out
Morgan (Safana): not worried about it.
Morgan (Safana): I’m back-seat driving jackie’s CoH game -.
Alex: yeah?
Alex: ATTACK
Morgan (Safana): lol
Morgan (Safana): oh, lame, none of my notes
Morgan (Safana): right, of course duh.
Morgan (Safana): alex,I hope you’re keeping logs on xfire
Morgan (Safana): otherwise, the party’s criminal record is, you know, gone.
Alex: back to June 28
Alex: Got another job offer… lol
Campaign saved.
GM: …
Alex: there is nothing in his d20.xml file?
Morgan (Safana): dont look at me, fg2 confuses the hell out of me, especially on windows 7
Alex: That’s the issue.
Alex: Windows 7
Alex: Pathing is different.
Alex: Sorting it out… again.
Alex: So, how are you both?
Morgan (Safana): check in, uh..
Morgan (Safana): what was it..
GM: its the appdata folder
Morgan (Safana): there was a funny folder involved..
Morgan (Safana): ugh. I should remember where these things are hidden; I just salvaged my entire data folder yesterday .
Campaign saved.
Morgan (Safana): so nick hows it hangin
Alex: Uhh… is it the Roaming folder?
Morgan (Safana): maybe
Morgan (Safana): dude
Morgan (Safana): have him do a search for one of the FG folders
Morgan (Safana): unless its ignoring hidden locs, it’ll turn up
Morgan (Safana): and finally, why are we holding ourselves up for his backup toon
Morgan (Safana): lawl
Alex: Idk!
GM: OKAY
RECAP
OF SESSION 11!
Meich, Safana and Arithel recover from Arithel’s scrying and make a dash for the entrance, where they see a pitched battle in which they are losing. They slip behind the cannon line and commandeer a weapon. Safana sees fit to arm the cannon with gold, to teach the greedy mercenaries a lesson. She fires into the crowd, having the others reload – it causes pandemonium as the mercenaries scramble to sieze the wealth. The fighting ceases, but is re-ignited when the Orc and the Human with the soulless eyes assault Safana, Meich and Arithel. They are dispatched, but not before Meich takes a near-fatal beating. Arithel saves the life of the Kobold mercenary captain, and they set off to investigate the fate of the Fourth Company. They find the armory in tatters, having exploded from the inside, and find the dragonborn within, the lone survivor of a mutineer’s attack. They save his life and proceed to ensure that the Stormtamer becomes the governor of Islas.
You had all just levelled up!
Morgan (Safana): I mean, why did Doug leave?
Campaign saved.
Alex: he crashed
Nick (Arithel): ding
Morgan (Safana): woooo!
Arithel: [1d4 = 4]
Morgan (Safana): you’ll forgive me if I hold off on updating.
Alex: eh?
Morgan (Safana): I don’t want to open up more windows
Morgan (Safana): lol
Morgan (Safana): laptop. Old. NO TAX COMPY
Morgan (Safana): tax compy make compy go boom lose all data and I do mean all
Alex: Ew.
Alex: Any data you need me to pull up?

Morgan (Safana): no, I’m good, I had things more concise than I thought.
Safana: [1d6 = 6]
Morgan (Safana): woo!
Morgan (Safana): laptop does not fail me!

Alex: So you are updating?
Morgan (Safana): yeah, yeah.
Alex: nice
Campaign saved.
Nick (Arithel): feat/hp/spells/skills.
Alex: Indeed?
Morgan (Safana): done, for the moment.
Morgan (Safana): I don’t feel like wrestling with skills without a mouse wheel
GM: sure sure
Alex: Unless you want me to adjust them for you
In terms of loot, from the last session, you picked up:
GM: 3 Leather Armor of Rememberance (2 to Concentration Checks)
GM: +2 Vicious Battleaxe

Campaign saved.
Morgan (Safana): neat-o
Morgan (Safana): I’d suggest selling the axe, to be honest, unless someone uses them I don’t know about.
Nick (Arithel): Alex can you bump me up 4 ranks in diplomacy?
Morgan (Safana): I’d kinda like the armor if you don’t want it
Nick (Arithel): I dont mind
‘Doug’ connected
Campaign saved.
Nick (Arithel): What about the axe.
Morgan (Safana): don’t use ‘em.
Morgan (Safana): I’d say sell it, should be worth a fair bit of coin.
Nick (Arithel): Wonder if Meich is proficient. We should probably look into making her a full blown henchman at this point.
Morgan (Safana): Err… what do you think she is now?
Nick (Arithel): technically shes still just a hireling.
Morgan (Safana): I’m not seeing the distinction.
Nick (Arithel): henchmen are more like trusted allies that are npcs I think.
Nick (Arithel): hirelings are just paid-for professionals.
Morgan (Safana): in which case I don’t really see as its a distinction that can be made via a contract, it just sort’ve happens.
Morgan (Safana): besides which, she’s presently very well paid >.<
Arithel: http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?492659-(AD-amp-D-1st-ed)-difference-between-hirelings-vs-henchmen
Campaign saved.
Morgan (Safana): 1st edition AD&D? lol
Nick (Arithel): its an old 1st ed.
Morgan (Safana): which doesn’t apply.
Nick (Arithel): ya :P just realized that.
Morgan (Safana): the distinction no longer exists, as far as I know
Morgan (Safana): :P
GM: I don’t think it does… there’s a different distinction , but it’s now mercenaries vs henchmen or something similar
GM: …no, followers.
Morgan (Safana): there are essentially three grades; hirelings, followers, cohorts
Morgan (Safana): and the distinction between A and B is mostly “are you hiring these people out of pocket, or are they following you out of (whatever)”
Morgan (Safana): its a question of motivation, afaik; are you a paycheck to the person, or do they have some other reason tying them to your service.
Morgan (Safana): Cohorts are a whole nother ballgame.
Campaign saved.
Nick (Arithel): anything else at level 9 im forgetting?
Morgan (Safana): did you remember the feat?
Nick (Arithel): yes, energy admixture.
Morgan (Safana): ooo, sexy
Alex: er?
Alex: Is that legal?
Morgan (Safana): hells yeah
Nick (Arithel): why not?
Morgan (Safana): it may not be science, but its still awesome
Morgan (Safana): although I guess it is kind’ve science
Morgan (Safana): the science of boom
Morgan (Safana): look on the bright side, it means he may not always be setting things on fire anymore
Morgan (Safana): he can be more environmentally friendly!
Alex: WHAT DOES IT DO!
Morgan (Safana): it lets you fiddle with the type of damage done by energy spells, iirc.
Alex: Neat
Morgan (Safana): I’m not positive, but if its the one I think it is, it lets you basically take an energy spell and split the damage in half, 50% one type, 50% the other
Morgan (Safana): Nick’ll have to confirm.
Alex: so 50/50 Fire/ice?
Alex: Or fire/water, and create a massive steamball?
Nick (Arithel): energy substitution replaces one type with another.
Campaign saved.
Nick (Arithel): energy admixture does the damage again as that new type.
Nick (Arithel): so a fire/lightning ball would do 10d6 fire and 10d6 lighting.
GM: …and this is applicable to all spells?
Nick (Arithel): any energy based spell.
Nick (Arithel): was actually going to ask you if that included scorching ray.
Nick (Arithel): thats your call.
Eachra: [1d8 = 5]
Morgan (Safana): scorching ray would be, yes.
Alex: …Wait, arcane admixture, the metamagic spell?
Morgan (Safana): energy admixture
Morgan (Safana): complete arcane
Morgan (Safana): feat
Morgan (Safana): since scorching ray has the [Fire] descriptor, its an energy spell, so yes, it could be done with it.
Alex: So what type of energy are you mixing with?
Morgan (Safana): whatever he took energy substitution for.
Nick (Arithel): has to be the same one I chose for substitution, so electricity.
Campaign saved.
Alex: Fair enough
Campaign saved.
Morgan (Safana): Woooo!
Nick (Arithel): ?
Arithel: Resetting Wizard Powers
Nick (Arithel): wierd
Alex: eh?
Nick (Arithel): my level 5 spells arent showing up on the mini menu
Nick (Arithel): gonna release and re establish.
Campaign saved.
Nick (Arithel): there we go.
Morgan (Safana): Woooooo!
Alex: woo indeed
Morgan (Safana): sorry, not much else I can do but cheer any progress that’s made :P
Alex: Yeah, I know
Alex: I feem similarly
Morgan (Safana): I too feem this way!
Nick (Arithel): Whee!
Morgan (Safana): Yes! Exactly!
Arithel: Resetting Sorcerer Powers
Nick (Arithel): ok done
Doug ((Unnamed)): :)
Alex: sorry that I was not able to get doug sorted earlier
Safana: Resetting Spell Counter Powers
Nick (Arithel): np
Doug ((Unnamed)): I am sorry it was such a damn hassle :(
Campaign saved.
Alex: hmm
Alex: So, what is the group’s plan post-coronation?
Morgan (Safana): We haven’t got one!
Morgan (Safana): err, I haven’t*
Nick (Arithel): I was going to propose to the party that we stay with Bart the next couple weeks at least to help him get things sorted out and solidified.
Nick (Arithel): after that, I would seek to see if a secret service agency can be formed in Islas to keep the peace.
Morgan (Safana): yes! Yes! SECRET POLICE!
Nick (Arithel): Of which I would offer my services to.
Morgan (Safana): that can’t possibly go wrong!
Morgan (Safana): aren’t you lawful good?
Nick (Arithel): yes, good organizations need spy networks too!
Nick (Arithel): afk stomach, ouch.
Morgan (Safana): I didn’t do it
Alex: eh?
Campaign saved.
Doug ((Unnamed)): DAMN! You did not eat the fuzy green cake again did you Nick?
Alex: …again?
Morgan (Safana): see, most people learn after the first try.
Doug ((Unnamed)): I am taking into account he may have been intoxicated the first tyime and forgot…
Morgan (Safana): a valid concern, really.
Doug ((Unnamed)): nods I thought so too…
Alex: …I remember the Joose incident of ‘10.
Morgan (Safana): oh, lord
Nick (Arithel): back
Nick (Arithel): You know I did have a beer and a shot on my birthday, but before that
Nick (Arithel): it has been a year.
Nick (Arithel): Just kinda got sick of alchohol.
Campaign saved.
Nick (Arithel): Anyway…
Nick (Arithel): we were discussing post-coronation plans.
Alex: indeed you were.
Alex: Nick had posited staying around to consolidate power.
(Unnamed): <3>
Nick (Arithel): That is Arithel’s plan.
Morgan (Safana): then it’s also Saf’s plan!
Morgan (Safana): >.>
Morgan (Safana): <.<
Nick (Arithel): who is Unnamed?
Morgan (Safana): dooglet
Nick (Arithel): damn. Thought I had a stalker for a minute.
Morgan (Safana): just Saf.
Nick (Arithel): haha well see.
Doug ((Unnamed)): LOL
Doug ((Unnamed)): Yep I am yer stalker.. Please put some damn closes on!
Alex: Hemm… so, after power is consolida—-
Nick (Arithel): So yes consolodate power, keep the peace, and do the best we can to create a utopia.
Alex: Be right back. I’m going to vomit.
Morgan (Safana): LOL
Morgan (Safana): come back here
Morgan (Safana): suffer like the rest of us
Morgan (Safana): mm….zz top.
Morgan (Safana): .
Nick (Arithel): lol the ole’ classic ZZ.
Morgan (Safana): it got me through a great many horrible, horrible instance runs
Morgan (Safana): :P
Campaign saved.
Morgan (Safana): Honestly chief, I don’t think we have concrete plans. We’re sticking around awhile incase there’s anything we can do to help Bart.
Alex: Okay.
Nick (Arithel): as far as long term plans, Arithel would like to investigate his past, that Daeva we met knew something, so he will probably seek out a way to contact a power to learn more.
Nick (Arithel): how? probably talk to a reputable priest in the city if there is one.
Nick (Arithel): drink, dance, enjoy the victory in the meantime.
Nick (Arithel): At the same time vow to never let corruption take hold again.
Nick (Arithel): rambling end.
Campaign saved.
Morgan (Safana): While Arithel’s putting himself to practical use of… some form or other, Saf’ll probably be focusing on getting the harbor back in operation, try to get things working smoothly again… and try to get together the locations of any other nearby settlements.
Morgan (Safana): “Nearby” can be interpreted very loosely in this case.
Alex: Fair enough.
Morgan (Safana): “Nearby” at the moment means “the next settlement you run into in (X direction)”
Morgan (Safana): I’d hope somewhere like this we’d have access to maps and charts to make said search a little easier.
Campaign saved.
Alex: I’d say that’s fair enough.
Alex: fairly easy as well.
Alex: How goes, doug?
Salsindor: Working on it, goes slow :/
Salsindor: If folks would stop callign me
Salsindor: on the stupid phone
Morgan (Safana): I could call you, then they’d just get a busy signal, right?
Salsindor: nope, get sent to voince mail
Morgan (Safana): I’m not seeing how that wouldn’t work too.
Morgan (Safana): :P
Alex: lol
Campaign saved.
Campaign saved.
Alex: hmm
Alex: I am getting dangerous ides.
Morgan (Safana): good
Alex: I dont know if you really think that.
Morgan (Safana): oh, yes, definitely
Nick (Arithel): hehe
