Kiergath (enter): 21:15
Kiergath: HAIL TO THEE
Kiergath: I BID YOU
Arothir: Ha
Kiergath: welcome.
Kiergath: La!
Arothir: ...I broke the dwarves
Arothir: Hrm
Shenvallei: Poor dwarves. I shed a tear for them.
Kiergath: Hmm
Kiergath: REMOVE MY SPECTATORNESS
Arothir: No.
Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to Kiergath…
Arothir: Nick
Kiergath: lest I spectate this spectacle through my… spectacles..
Arothir: Save your tears
Arothir: You’ll need them shortly
Kiergath: NAY
Kiergath: SHED THEM
Arothir: YOU STAND BEFORE A CRUMPLED DUST OF SKELETONS
Kiergath: FOR THE DEATH OF SUCH NOBLE DWARVES IS ALWAYS A TRAGEDY
Alusair: Oh right
Arothir: In one of the halls, there’s a woman, who, if she weren’t made of stone
Arothir: Would be blushing
Alusair: Lo… I see the crumpled dust of skellingtons
Arothir: As across the way
Arothir: There is a male statue… proposing to her
Alusair: oh well
Shenvallei: So to refresh from last night, the skeletons were taken down, did I use any spells?
Alusair: no
Shenvallei: no? ok
Alusair: no.
Alusair: you used no spells.
Shenvallei: have I take damage?
Arothir: No you did not
Arothir: Van looks like that Owlbear kicked the shit out of him
Alusair: do I have time to heal him?
Arothir: Nothing is currently occuring
Arothir: so Yes?
Alusair: [1d8+3<!- Official Roll ->] => [7,3] = (10)
Alusair: cure light.
Arothir: He looks much better
Arothir: He digs out skeleton bits from his remaining wounds
Shenvallei: So to make sure I have the right picture in my mind, the hallway led to a T section with 2 statues at either end of the T yes?
Alusair: and doors.
Alusair: yes?
Alusair: Or is this down one of the corridors…
Alusair: hells
Arothir: OKAY
Arothir: MAP TIME
Arothir: Sec
Alusair: ty
Alusair: lol
Arothir: Not to scale, mind you
Alusair: kay
Arothir: Kay?
Shenvallei: both statues are in that nook?
Alusair: alex, question on the map
  • Alusair points *
    Arothir: Yes?
    Arothir: Er
    Arothir: no
    Arothir: They arent
    Arothir: They’re in that hallway
    Arothir: Better?
    Alusair: k
Alusair: Is the exit where I marked it?
    Arothir: Yes
    Alusair: k
Alusair: “Theres something in that coffin.. I don’t know what, but I can’t help thinking we should deal with it.”
Shenvallei: ok I had it figured right.
Arothir: Van: If it’s another of those damn Wights…
Arothir: It seems a bit big for a Wight Coffin
Shenvallei: “It as in an undead? What if there is just a dead body with jewels inside.”
Alusair: “It is not just, as you say, a dead body.”
    Alusair: “I can feel it.”
Arothir: Jess perks up at the mention of jewels
Shenvallei: “I know. Just trying to be optomistic.”
  • Alusair prays, prods Van *
Shenvallei: Ill search all around the coffin for traps and any clues at to what might be inside.
  • Alusair prays again. *
Arothir: You search around the coffin….
Arothir: It takes you a bit
    Arothir: it’s a large coffin
Arothir: Jess: Are their sparklies inside?
    Alusair: “Possibly. Patience, love.”
    Shenvallei: “Could be.” I smile.
    Arothir: you smile
    Shenvallei: search check is…
    Shenvallei: [1d20+6<!- Official Roll ->] => [14,6] = (20)
    Shenvallei: if it helps
Alusair: Will be casting Bless just before we open the coffin
    Arothir: You search harder
    Arothir: and…uh…
Arothir: You make out that whatever it is
    Arothir: It’s…welll…big
Shenvallei: Ill grab hold of the slab on top, and push with all my strength from the west end to the east end. This is assuming it opens like a slab and not a latch.
Arothir: It does open like a slap
    Arothir: STR CHECK
    Shenvallei: [1d20<!- Official Roll ->] => [19] = (19)
Arothir: YOU GIVE IT A MIGHTY SHOVE
Alusair: Right. Bless. +1 to attacks, +1 to fear saves.
Shenvallei: Do you have bless weapon or just bless?
    Alusair: didn’t take it today
    Shenvallei: k
Alusair: if I can even memorize it
Alusair: I don’t have it written down.
    Shenvallei: it says pal 1
Arothir: The stone moves a good foot, before a skeletal finger hooks around it and hurls it with a large cracking noise against the wall. Unfolding itself from within, the tomb’s guardian, a giant two handed skeleton rises up, easily ten feet broad. In it’s hand, it has a massive morningstar, which is wields with menace as it turns to face all of you, emitting a mighty below.
    Alusair: wait
    Alusair: two handed?
    Arothir: Er…headed, my bad.
    Alusair: just making sure
Shenvallei: “Undead Ettin!” I run behind back to the group.
    Alusair: “Nice knowing ya all.”
    Alusair: Look at the morningstar
    Shenvallei: It bellows?
    Arothir: Yes.
  • Alusair studies the morning star a moment before muttering, “Oh. You’ve got to be sodding kidding.” *
Arothir: Bellows, which is odd, for a creature whose lungs must have crumbled to dust hundreds of years ago.
    Arothir: Initiatives, gents?
    Alusair: [1d20+2<!- Official Roll ->] => [16,2] = (18) for the inevitable init.
    Alusair: :P
    Shenvallei: [1d20+4<!- Official Roll ->] => [15,4] = (19)
    Alusair: show-off
    Shenvallei: hehe
    Arothir: Very well.
    Arothir: SHEN
    Arothir: Go.
    Arothir: Do it.
    Arothir: Make it worthwhile
    Arothir: :P
    Shenvallei: Ill run away.
    Shenvallei: Well not yet.
Shenvallei: Though it might be a good idea.
Shenvallei: Ill move behind the group and cast magic missile.
    Shenvallei: My favorite spell…
    Arothir: lawl
    Shenvallei: incomming 4 damage
    Shenvallei: [2d4+2<!- Official Roll ->] => [3,1,2] = (6)
    Arothir: 6!
    Shenvallei: yay…
    Arothir: The ettin is phased!
Alusair: MM doesn’t get fun until you have quickened spell
Alusair: and a high enough level to use it AND a normal spell simultaneously
    Arothir: lawl
    Shenvallei: yeah
    Shenvallei: agreed
Alusair: epic mage with auto quicken ftw!
    Alusair: :P
    Arothir: lol…
    Arothir: Okay
    Arothir: Alusair?
    Alusair: Oh. Joy.
Alusair: Defensive stance.. -4 to hit, +2 to AC.
Arothir: The ettin hauls back and lets fly a mighty swing at Alusair
Shenvallei: Takes you a full action to switch stances?
Alusair: no.. just whispered my rolls
    Arothir: Alusair does hit
Arothir: Some bone chips go flying
  • Alusair swings, hits, does damage. *
Arothir: Less than she expected, however.
Arothir: Likewise, she gets beaned by the heavy morningstar
Alusair: the joys of slashing weapons and skeletons
    Arothir: 8 damage, Alusair
    Alusair: eesh
Arothir: Van leaps at the things head from behind you. [1d10+4+1d6<!- Official Roll ->] => [5,4,3] = (12)
    Arothir: More bone fragments.
Arothir: SHEN! Top of the order!
Shenvallei: Fire my other magic missile at it.
    Shenvallei: [2d4+2<!- Official Roll ->] => [3,1,2] = (6)
    Arothir: Yessir!
    Arothir: Another impact!
    Arothir: Alusair!
Shenvallei: Does the thing look weakened at all or just as hearty?
Arothir: It looks slightly less healthy
    Shenvallei: ok
    Alusair: [1d20+4<!- Official Roll ->] => [9,4] = (13)
    Alusair: blah
    Arothir: Lucky for you
    Arothir: That’s a hit.
    Alusair: neato
    Alusair: [1d10+6+3+6<!- Official Roll ->] => [4,6,3,6] = (19)
Arothir: A shower of bone, but it’s still standing.
    Alusair: yes, well
    Alusair: miraculously, so am I
Alusair: But I suspect you’re about to try and remedy that
Arothir: The morningstar swings, but whistles just over Alusair’s head and smashes into a nearby pillar, crumbling it in half.
    Arothir: Van leaps again! [1d10+4+1d6<!- Official Roll ->] => [10,4,2] = (16)
    Arothir: More bone showers.
    Arothir: Shen!
    Shenvallei: Delay
    Arothir: You delay
    Arothir: Alusair!
    Alusair: [1d20+4<!- Official Roll ->] => [12,4] = (16)
    Alusair: [1d10+6+3+6<!- Official Roll ->] => [5,6,3,6] = (20)
Arothir: You manage to knock off a good portion of it’s femur
    Arothir: But it’s still standing
Arothir: Another solid connection with Alusair.
    Arothir: 11 Points.
    Arothir: Shen?
    Arothir: You acting before Van?
Arothir: Or are you delaying the whole round?
    Arothir: lol
Shenvallei: Ill just take a half action to draw my bow and cover the rear in case anything comes from behind.
Shenvallei: Really dont have anything to hit this thing with.
    Arothir: Kay.
    Arothir: Another attack from Van… [1d10+1d6+6<!- Official Roll ->] => [7,6,6] = (19)
Arothir: It’s looking worse for the wear now…
    Arothir: SHEN!
    Arothir: Nothing’s coming from behind.
Shenvallei: Ill just get one of my scrolls ready then pass my turn.
    Arothir: Alrighty
    Arothir: Alusair!
    Alusair: [1d20+4<!- Official Roll ->] => [7,4] = (11)
Arothir: That hits, but just barely
    Alusair: [1d10+6+3+6<!- Official Roll ->] => [8,6,3,6] = (23)
Shenvallei: At least this thing has no armor.
Arothir: The Ettin drops the morningstar, and Van leaps down on top of it, the skeleton crumbling the moment his foot touches it. He falls awkwardly onto the floor, his Halberd clattering away from his hand.
Arothir: Before you is a mountain of dust
Arothir: and a very hefty morningstar
  • Alusair lowers her sword, slumping against the wall. *
Shenvallei: “By the gods are you ok Alusair? You took some heavy blows.”
    Alusair: “Well… that was fun..”
    Arothir: Van dusts himself off
  • Alusair slides down to the floor, leaving a bloody smear as she does. *
Arothir: Jess: What an epic battle! I haven’t seen something like that sin—-Oh Alusair!
Arothir: She rushes over to attempt to stop the bleeding, but then she remembers she hates blood.
Alusair: Which makes the epic question..
Alusair: Which comes first.. Me.. or her hate of blood?
Arothir: Well, she puts her hand on your non-mangled shoulder
    Arothir: :P
Alusair: Its the thought that counts, I suppose
Shenvallei: Ill pull out some of my cotton cloth from my pack and douse it with water and offer to help Alusair.
  • Alusair shakes her head, “Just give me a minute…” *
Arothir: You see Van collecting more dust, absentmindedly, and he again loops the pouch around his belt.
Shenvallei: Search the inside of the coffin.
    Arothir: You do
    Arothir: You find…powdered lungs
Arothir: and…tucked into the corner, a scroll
  • Alusair prays after peeling the blood-soaked silk of her tunic out of the wounds. *
Shenvallei: detect magic on the scroll / contents.
Arothir: The Scroll is indeed magic.
Arothir: You identify it as a Scroll of Acid Arrow™
Arothir: Van hops into the tomb and begins collecting more dust
    Alusair: ...
Alusair: that’s MELF’S acid arrow to you
    Arothir: Naw
    Arothir: It’
    Arothir: s not
    Arothir: :P
    Shenvallei: lol thats right.
    Arothir: 3.5e killed Melf
    Shenvallei: oh
    Alusair: afraid so.
Alusair: 3.5e can suck my frozen new yorker nuts.
    Alusair: its still melf
    Shenvallei: lol
    Arothir: True
Arothir: Van: Uh…Shen? You should look at this…
Alusair: I mean, what is this shit
Alusair: Mordenkainen’s spells are still Mordenkainen
Alusair: but Melf gets tossed out
Arothir: He’s standing, holding a pouch in his hand, looking down
    Arothir: Yep.
Alusair: Otiluke gets thrown for the most part
Shenvallei: It still says Melf in my book
    Arothir: I’m using SRDs, so
  • Alusair gets up and waits for the party to finish playing in the dust. *
Arothir: Shen, investigation where Van is standing reveals a tiny engraving, easily missed
Shenvallei: carefully dust it off and see if I can read it.
Arothir: “Here lies Charlie, defender of the Great Necromancer Hagggrn Knorrrlacggg, entombed here 1962. You will be missed.”
    Shenvallei: I read it aloud.
    Arothir: YOU READ IT ALOUD
Arothir: The tomb rumbles a bit
    Shenvallei: Pocket the scroll.
    Arothir: INITIATIVES
Alusair: “For the … you just.. ugh.”
    Alusair: [1d20+2<!- Official Roll ->] => [2,2] = (4)
    Shenvallei: [1d20+4<!- Official Roll ->] => [6,4] = (10)
Shenvallei: “I was just trying to…”
Arothir: You see…those gnome things…climbing out of the walls…literally
    Arothir: Six of them!
    Alusair: ”...”
Arothir: Van swings at one, easily taking it down.
    Arothir: SHEN!
Alusair: I’m going to have nightmares for weeks
Alusair: after I get back to the Cage
Shenvallei: Sleep spell if I can hit 4 of them.
    Arothir: YOU CAN
    Alusair: [1d10<!- Official Roll ->] => [8] = (8)
    Arothir: Two fall asleep
Alusair: ( sorry, mother just yelled from the other room to roll her a 1d10 )
    Arothir: Lawl
Alusair: ( group leveled last week… guess she’s leveling her char. )
Arothir: I was thinking: Okay, where’s the attack roll?
Shenvallei: Say hi to mom for us.
    Alusair: LOL
    Alusair: no
    Arothir: Alusair!
Shenvallei: Why will she jump on and get all talkative?
    Alusair: no
    Arothir: Three remaining.
Alusair: its just not worth it
Alusair: she’d probably try to talk to me
    Arothir: No, no it’s not
    Arothir: :p
    Shenvallei: lol
    Alusair: and that bothers me
    Alusair: [1d20+6<!- Official Roll ->] => [15,6] = (21)
    Arothir: That’s a hiT!
    Alusair: [1d10+6+3+6<!- Official Roll ->] => [10,6,3,6] = (25)
    Alusair: k
    Alusair: max damage ftw
    Arothir: A gnome explodes
    Alusair: LOL
    Arothir: Shame you wasted it.
    Arothir: :P
    Alusair: yeah
Arothir: The two remaining gnomes stab at Shen
Arothir: but he dances out of the way like the elf he is
Arothir: Van serves one of them up on a pike
    Arothir: SHEN!
    Arothir: ANKLEBITER!
    Alusair: damned pointy eared pixie
Shenvallei: Backhand slash at one of them. [1d20+1<!- Official Roll ->] => [8,1] = (9)
    Alusair: ( taps foot )
    Arothir: You hit
    Arothir: Damage?
    Shenvallei: Really?
    Arothir: Yeah
    Alusair: they’re naked gnomes, dude
    Arothir: lol
Shenvallei: isnt base AC 10 in 3rd?
    Alusair: Shen
    Alusair: He said you hit
    Arothir: Yeah
    Alusair: He has the stats
    Arothir: :P
    Shenvallei: what is damage
Alusair: He wouldn’t lie to you!
    Alusair: :P
    Arothir: ..uh
    Arothir: Unarmed?
    Shenvallei: on a sabre
Alusair: if its a sabre / rapier, 1d6
    Arothir: Oh
    Shenvallei: [1d6<!- Official Roll ->] => [5] = (5)
Arothir: Shen manages to draw blood!
Arothir: A lot of blood, actually.
    Shenvallei: good
Arothir: More blood than has been seen coming out of an NPC since the exploded gnome earlier that round.
Arothir: THATS THE LAST OF THE AWAKE ONES
Shenvallei: coupe de grace the last of them.
    Arothir: You do.
    Arothir: They die peacefully
Arothir: Van: No more reading things we find at the bottom of tombs out loud…
Arothir: Shen, you notice something behind the tomb you didn’t see before
    Shenvallei: Inspect it.
    Alusair: investigate the deaders
Arothir: Upraised on a shelf are three pots, similar in shape to those in front of the shelf, as well as a twisted, ornate blade of some sort. It looks like it might be held along the forearm, with the blade acting as an extention of the arm. There is an additional blade which sprouts on the other side of the barrel, for purposes of punching, it seems
    Arothir: The deaders are dead…
Arothir: They have stone daggers and axes
Arothir: ....and seem….what’s the word…well preserved.
    Alusair: Interesting.
    Shenvallei: “Oooo. Whats this”
    Shenvallei: I grab the blade.
    Shenvallei: well not the blade
    Arothir: you pick it up
Arothir: Careful not to cut yourself
Shenvallei: I set it down on the edge of the coffin.
    Arothir: you do so
Shenvallei: And then grab the 3 pots and empty them
    Shenvallei: on the ground.
    Alusair: Alex
    Alusair: duck behind a column
Arothir: You empty one pot – Rice.
Arothir: You empty another pot – Sand
Arothir: You empty a third pot – Monste—-copper.
Alusair: If I don’t hear screaming in five seconds, come back out
Shenvallei: “Ah good old copper coins.”
    Shenvallei: I count them.
    Arothir: A thousand copper coins.
    Shenvallei: Gather them up.
    Arothir: you do
Shenvallei: Thats what 10 gold aye?
    Arothir: And no screaming
    Arothir: And yes. But heavier
Alusair: true, if you had a bank around
    Arothir: :P
    Alusair: :P
Arothir: Van perches on the side of the coffin
    Alusair: which means…
Alusair: you have… 20 pounds.. of copper coins…
Shenvallei: Ill throw them in the sack along with the 50 gold in the wight tomb I found earlier.
Arothir: Van suggests leaving them at the entrance to the tomb
    Shenvallei: I whistle a tune.
    Shenvallei: And walk north.
    Arothir: You walk back north
    Shenvallei: “Oh look more pottery.”
Shenvallei: Ill head east and empty those pots as well.
    Arothir: YOU DO
Arothir: The pots contain – a Dagger, 50 gold, and a lot of rice
Arothir: one of them was empty
Arothir: the dagger was with the rice
Shenvallei: “Fantastic! At least we are getting something out of all this effort.”
Shenvallei: Ill collect the gold and then inspect the dagger carefully.
Alusair: Wait at “BLOOOOOOOD” while they drop the loot off at the entrance
Shenvallei: Ill cast a detect magic on it as well.
    Shenvallei: grabbin drink brb
    Arothir: You do so
Arothir: The dagger is indeed magic
    Arothir: You wait at BLOOOOOOOD
Arothir: The sound of wings beats against the door
Arothir: as though trying to escape
    Alusair: nifty.
Shenvallei: Head back to the group.
Shenvallei: “If we are going to continue further Id like to meditate.”
    Alusair: “As you wish.”
    Arothir: Van agrees
Alusair: fall back to the entrance
Alusair: it wasn’t as messy there
    Arothir: you do!
